COUNCIL CHAIR APPOINTS MEMBERS TO THE COUNTY VEHICLE USE REVIEW BOARD

Board Established by Council Resolution CR-001-2017

 

Prince George’s County Council Chair Derrick L. Davis (D) – District 6, has appointed three-members to the County Vehicle Use Review Board, established by Council Resolution 001-2017, during Council session on December 6, 2016. 


Named to the three-member panel are: Dr. Jacqueline L. Brown (District 6, Central County), Samuel A. Epps, IV (District 1, North County), and Enor R. Williams, Jr., CCM (District 9, South County).


Dr. Jacqueline L. Brown’s extensive professional career combines experience in external affairs, government and public policy, business and community coalition building, business development, career and workforce counseling.  Dr. Brown is currently an Adjunct Professor, teaching and lecturing on the subjects of Business Studies and Workforce Development at the Prince George’s Community College, where she formerly served as Director of Community and Government Affairs before retiring from that position.


Samuel A. Epps, IV is an activist, labor organizer and community leader. Committed to fighting for social and economic justice for working families, Mr. Epps began his career in the labor movement in 2006 with 1199 SEIU United Healthcare East. Experienced in his work with policy makers on issues impacting workers, Samuel Epps has expert knowledge of legislative processes.


Enor Williams, Jr., is a Certified Construction Manager and engineer, with vast facility, project, program and construction management/inspection experience in healthcare, educational, government, and aviation facilities, as well as roadways and bridges.  Currently, Mr. Williams serves as Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (MAIF), a position he has held since 2012.


The Council, in its oversight role, is examining long-standing policies in Prince George’s County for timely updates. The County Vehicle Use Review Board is charged with conducting a careful review of current administrative policies governing the use of County-assigned vehicles, and providing recommendations for updates and amendments.

Council Chair Derrick L. Davis (D) – District 6 appreciates the willingness to serve.  “The Council recognizes that County vehicle use is a concern that needs to be addressed. I have every confidence the residents who have agreed to serve on the County Vehicle Use Review Board will conduct a thorough and thoughtful review, and resulting in a policy that works in the best interests of the County and addresses the needs of County officials as they traverse the county, state and region in the full-time service of our citizens.”


The County Vehicle Use Review Board is anticipated to begin its work by early March and is scheduled to submit recommendations by June 30, 2017.
