Hatred and bigotry have no place in our society and all of us must unite against those who seek to divide our nation.  The entire County Council stands with those who continue to protest against the evil forces that propagate an ideology rooted  in racism, division and violence.

We will forever remember the supreme sacrifices of those who lost their lives in the hateful violence that descended upon Charlottesville last weekend.  

 
As elected officials we support the efforts of the Governor of Maryland and Mayor of Baltimore, and will do our part to remove the vestiges of the Confederacy across this state that continue to serve as beacons to those who seek to divide us.
