In light of the alarming rise in violent incidents within Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), including a recent fight at Potomac High School that left the community shaken, Council Member Krystal Oriadha will host an Emergency “State of Our Schools” Town Hall to address these pressing safety concerns on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, 6:00 PM.

Recently, there has been a troubling increase in student altercations and assaults amongst our county’s students, with the fight at Potomac High School serving as a stark reminder of the urgent need for tangible solutions. Council Member Oriadha invites all community members and stakeholders to participate in this essential dialogue that not only creates tangible solutions but implements actionable plans for safer schools.
The Town Hall will address the uptick in violence in schools, implement strategies that strengthen safety measures for students and staff, and prioritize collaborative solutions from school administrators, families, and the community.
