Council Member Calvin S. Hawkins, II has announced that he will resign from his At-Large County Council seat effective Monday, December 22, 2025. On Monday, Council Member Hawkins will transition to a new position in the Executive Branch, serving as Assistant Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Economic Development. 

Pursuant to the County Code, when there is a vacancy in the Office of a Council Member that occurs during the last year of a term, a majority of the remaining Council Members will appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy. The Council is now seeking letters of interest and resumes from interested individuals who are registered voters in Prince George’s County. 

Those who wish to be considered for the At-Large County Council position should submit a statement of interest and a resume using this LINK by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2025.
