Prince George's County Council Member At-Large Calvin S. Hawkins, II will host a screening of the documentary film, "Lorton: Prison of Terror" on Saturday, January 7, 2023, 5:00 p.m., at Prince George's Community College's Center for the Performing Arts' Proscenium Theater. The 1hr and 20min documentary will take viewers inside the 8 different prisons of the Lorton Reformatory complex, and what made the prison and the prisoners the most feared, the most notorious, and the most respected men in the American prison system, featuring interviews with former inmates, corrections officers, and families of people who were imprisoned there to give as complete a picture as possible of life then and now, while sharing some of the prison’s less lurid and often surprising history.
