I have been in touch with Board of Education Chair Dr. Segun Eubanks and Prince George’s County Schools Chief Executive Officer Kevin Maxwell to inform them that the Prince George’s County Council, in keeping with its oversight responsibilities, will require an immediate and detailed briefing regarding the troubling matters involving the school system’s Head Start program and the subsequent loss of federal funding.

The reports are disturbing and totally unacceptable. The Head Start program is critical to supporting our students and we are committed to a resolution of this situation.
