The Prince George's County Council is proud to join with County residents and Americans around the nation to honor the remarkable life and legacy of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on this National Day of Service.
Words delivered by Dr. King from a pulpit in 1957 still hold true today. "Life's most persistent and urgent question is - What are you doing for others?"
Through efforts big and small, Prince Georgians, bound by common humanity and our shared commitment to achieve strong communities, have collectively engaged in public service action that inspire our young people, care for our seniors, further our growth and development; empower our residents; maintain our neighborhoods; and meet the unmet needs of others for the good of all Prince George's County.
As a Council and a community, we are inspired by the legacy of Dr. King, and we celebrate his belief that community strength comes from working together in unity.
