Access to quality health care, health promotion and disease prevention are priority concerns for the Prince George’s County Council, in its role as the Board of Health, and for the residents we represent.

The University of Maryland Medical System acquisition of Dimensions Healthcare, a big step toward addressing those priority concerns, is a significant milestone in the historic journey toward healthcare transformation in Prince George’s County.  

Over the last six years, stakeholders have worked jointly in a strong and unique collaboration, to address the healthcare needs of residents, and create a world-class health system that also positively impacts our economy.

We will continue this work through the groundbreaking scheduled in November, and the exciting grand opening of the new University of Maryland Capital Regional Health System in 2021.
