COUNCIL CHAIR CALVIN S. HAWKINS, II, EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES UPON PASSING OF SENATE PRESIDENT EMERITUS THOMAS V. “MIKE” MILLER, JR.

The Prince George’s County Council extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the Honorable Thomas V. “Mike” Miller, Jr., Maryland Senate President Emeritus, upon his passing after a valiant battle with cancer.

To his wife, Patti; son, Tommy; daughters, Amanda, Michelle, Melissa, and Melanie; sisters and brother; and fifteen grandchildren, the Council is so sorry for your great loss.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

We also offer our thoughts and prayers to the entire Maryland Legislature, especially to the members of the Maryland Senate.  Senator Miller was the longest-serving Senate president in the history of the state legislature, and despite his serious health challenges, he forged ahead, serving the citizens of the state of Maryland and in Prince George’s County.

Senator Miller is a native son, who leaves an impactful legacy of leadership and service for Maryland and Prince George’s County.
