Following the announcement of District 4 Council Member Ingrid S. Watson’s resignation, effective Friday, January 16, the Council has opened the application window for qualified individuals seeking appointment to the District 4 Council seat. The application period is now open and District 4 residents can submit a resume and statement of interest HERE.
The application deadline is Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Applicants must be registered voters who live in District 4. Residency will be verified.
Pursuant to the County Code, when there is a vacancy in the Office of a Council Member that occurs during the last year of a term, a majority of the remaining Council Members will appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy. The term is scheduled to end December 5, 2026.
Council Members are scheduled to hold a public informational briefing and then make an appointment during the Council meeting on Tuesday, January 27.
