Tour Consists of Three Community Meetings Next Week Plus Priorities Survey
In fulfilment of a day-one promise she made to the community when taking over as Council Chair, Chair Krystal Oriadha (District 7) is set to host a series of three community meetings next week on her countywide listening tour. On Tuesday, February 3; Thursday, February 5; and Friday, February 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the listening tour will make stops in North, Central, and Southern Prince George’s County, respectively, with meetings personally tailored to Prince Georgians in each area of the county. Council Members from each district will participate in the session scheduled for their constituents.
During these sessions, residents will be invited to share their thoughts, ideas, and concerns surrounding issues that matter most to them. Community members are also asked to complete a community priorities survey, which will guide Council Members in proposing legislation that reflects the needs and priorities of residents from all across the county.
“This endeavor is so important to me,” said Chair Oriadha. “I craft my legislation based upon what I’m hearing directly from the residents in my district. Now, as Chair, I feel that it is my duty to hear from all Prince Georgians, to ensure that my fellow Council Members and I are passing laws that solve real problems and bring needed improvements to the lives of residents everywhere.”
