On Tuesday, May 7th at 9:45 a.m., the Prince George’s County Council will present a Proclamation to Chef Tobias Dorzon, who was recently named Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Maryland. He is the first chef from Prince George’s County to be awarded the honor.

Dorzon, Executive Chef and owner of Huncho House Restaurant in Hyattsville and a former NFL player, has appeared on multiple Food Network programs including “Tournament of Champions,” “Chopped” and “Guy’s Grocery Games,” and he currently hosts “Time Out with Tobias” on ESPN+ and Hulu.

Dorzon is now poised to open a second restaurant, 1123 The Huncho Experience, in Hyattsville, bringing another fine dining option to the county.

Council Chair Jolene Ivey and District 2 Council Member Wanika Fisher will present Dorzon with the Proclamation.

“Chef Dorzon’s passion for food and commitment to elevating the dining experience in Prince George’s County has resulted in a restaurant where residents can explore exciting new cuisines and flavors close to home,” said Council Member Fisher. “We’re incredibly fortunate that he is part of our community and thrilled for the opportunity to recognize and honor and his culinary contributions.”

The Proclamation will be presented prior to the 10 a.m. Council meeting in the hearing room at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building, 1301 McCormick Dr. in Largo.
