Council Members Ingrid S. Watson, District 4 and Wala Blegay, District 6, will hold a Town Hall meeting to discuss traffic concerns stemming from new development along Route 301 (Crain Highway). The Town Hall will feature presentations from the Maryland State Highway Administration, Prince George’s County Department of Public Works & Transportation, and the Prince George’s County Planning Department.   The event will be held this Thursday, June 27, 7:00 p.m. at Bowie City Hall, 15901 Fred Robinson Way, Bowie, MD 20716.

Prince George's County faces significant road infrastructure challenges, with traffic congestion along Route 301 expected to worsen as new development emerges,” said Council Member Blegay. “This meeting marks the beginning of a crucial collaboration with the State to address traffic concerns and alleviate the stress on our residents. It is time to see tangible results.”

Route 301 has been a source of frustration for many residents and commuters in the surrounding communities. With the potential for increasing traffic congestion, foot traffic and safety hazards, it is crucial that all stakeholders come together to find solutions to these pressing issues.

“District 4 constituents have voiced their concerns regarding the increased traffic on Route 301, especially around new development,” said Council Member Watson. “This town hall will be an opportunity to hear updated information from the State Highway Administration and most importantly, get real time feedback and questions from the residents.”
