Prince George’s County Council Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

The Prince George’s County Council celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring Hispanic Americans’ rich history, heritage, culture, and contributions to the county at a special event, Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together, on Tuesday, October 15th, at 2:00 pm.

 

The celebration will feature musical performances from the Bowie State University Drumline, led by their first-ever Hispanic Drum Major, Miguel Gasca Ortega; members of the BSU Symphony of Soul Marching Band; the BSU Choir; and the Northwestern High School Visual & Performing Arts Choir; and remarks from keynote speaker Yvette Lerma Jones, the University of Maryland Director of Student Affairs Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

 

The public and members of the media are invited to join this celebration in the Council Hearing Room, 1st Floor, Wayne K. Curry Administration Building, 1301 McCormick Drive, Largo, MD, 20774.
