Tomorrow, Saturday, November 1, Council Member Wala Blegay (District 6) will serve as a lead sponsor, providing 100 bags of free groceries for local families, at the Wellness Expo: A Community Health Experience. The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Prince George’s Community College Culinary Arts Center, 301 Largo Road, Largo, MD 20774 – Parking Lot B.
This free community health event, presented by Sisters 4 Sisters Network, Inc., in partnership with Prince George’s Community College, will feature health screenings, cooking demonstrations, mental health resources, fitness sessions, children’s activities, and live music. The goal is to promote healthy living while connecting residents to local support services.
“The Wellness Expo comes just as many in our community will face the difficult reality of SNAP benefits expiring. Providing these bags of free groceries is just one way I am committed to helping our friends and neighbors,” said Council Member Blegay. “Our community deserves access to both healthy food and quality health care resources and Saturday’s event aims to do just that.”
