The Prince George’s County Council will meet for a virtual special meeting on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM to make an appointment to the open At-Large Council seat following the resignation of Council Member Calvin Hawkins.
Pursuant to the County Code, when there is a vacancy in the Office of a Council Member that occurs during the last year of a term, a majority of the remaining Council Members will appoint a qualified person to fill the vacancy.
Council Member Hawkins announced his resignation on December 19, and the Council immediately began taking letters of interest from those who wanted to be considered for the position.
