The Prince George’s County Council, sitting as the Board of Health, will host a Mental Health Town Hall on Tuesday, November 7th from 6-8 p.m.
Officials will provide an update on what resources are currently available, and members of the public can sign up to speak to share their experiences seeking help in the County and provide ideas for improvement. Understanding the scope of the problem is integral to finding solutions.
“We are experiencing a mental health crisis, and many are suffering in silence. We know there are gaping holes addressing mental health in this County and we want to change that,” said Council Vice Chair Wala Blegay, who serves as Chair of the Board of Health. “We encourage community members to come to the hearing, especially if they or a family member is suffering from a mental health issue. We want to know what the County can do to help.”
Members of the media are welcome, and we appreciate any assistance in alerting the community about the town hall.
This will take place at the Wayne K. Curry Administration Building at 1301 McCormick Dr. Largo, MD 20774.
