District 6 Council Member Wala Blegay Hosts Holiday Toy and Coat Drive

Event Supports Children and Families in Need During Holiday Season

Prince George’s County Council Member Wala Blegay (District 6), the Kappa Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Olde Towne Inn, Hopkins-Navies Family McDonalds, Operation Earnie’s Plate, and Epiphany Episcopal Church are partnering to host the 2023 District 6 Annual Toy and Coat Drive on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Epiphany Church in Forestville.  

Council Member Blegay said she is grateful for the opportunity to support families in need during the holiday season. “I am excited to join our local businesses, nonprofits, and the faith community to make the season brighter for children and families in need.”   

The holiday event will provide coats and toys for Longfields Elementary School students and the McKinney Vento Program.

12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. – Council Member Blegay and District 6 staff toy drive gift-wrapping
5:00 p.m. – Council Member Blegay, District 6 staff, and community partners will distribute toys and coats to families.
