Council Member Wala Blegay (District 6) is set to host a community meeting on Wednesday, July 30 to discuss the future of retail development in Westphalia. The meeting will begin at 6 PM at the Westphalia Community Center, 8900 Westphalia Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774.
Representatives from site developer Walton Global will provide an update on the project, including grocery stores they have met with following their participation in the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) conference in Las Vegas. The Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation will also discuss efforts underway to attract quality retail and grocery options to the community.
Additionally, attendees will learn more about planned changes to the Westphalia master plan and infrastructure upgrades to the surrounding road network, including improvements to Presidential Parkway.
Residents, community leaders, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend and share their perspectives on how Westphalia can create a one-of-a-kind retail destination.
“Westphalia is a unique and growing area, and it deserves a retail experience that is vibrant, creative, and tailored to the community’s needs,” said Council Member Blegay. “This meeting is an opportunity for residents to provide input and help shape the future of retail in their neighborhood.”
