Tonight, Wednesday, January 14, Council Member Wala Blegay (At-Large) is set to host ConnectTech, a networking and community-building event designed to bring together tech professionals, entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators who live and work in Prince George’s County. It will take place from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Kenhill Center Multi-Purpose Room, 2614 Kenhill Drive, Bowie, MD 20715.
ConnectTech comes at a critical time as the region adapts to changes in the federal workforce and explores new pathways for economic resilience. Many tech professionals live in Prince George’s County but operate businesses elsewhere. This initiative aims to change that by creating a strong, welcoming ecosystem for tech companies to headquarter, hire, and expand locally.
Hosted in partnership with the Prince George’s County Artificial Intelligence Taskforce, ConnectTech is focused on building a sustainable tech hub in the county by fostering collaboration, sharing resources, and creating pathways for local businesses to grow and remain rooted in the community.
“Prince George’s County is home to incredible tech talent,” said Council Member Blegay. “ConnectTech is about bringing that talent together, building relationships, and making it clear that our county is open for innovation, investment, and opportunity.”
The event will feature remarks from regional and county leaders highlighting opportunities in technology, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and government collaboration. Speakers will share insights on how local businesses can partner with Prince George’s County government and access programs that support innovation and growth.
The event is open to residents, entrepreneurs, business owners, and anyone interested in the future of technology and innovation in Prince George’s County. Attendees are asked to pre-register here. Members of the media are invited to cover this important event.
