As the April 15th federal tax filing deadline approaches, Council Member Wala Blegay (District 6) is taking action to support Prince Georgians by hosting a Free Tax Preparation Clinic on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This event is designed to provide last-minute assistance to low and middle-income families who need help completing and filing their tax returns.
The clinic is being held in partnership with The Nigerian Center and World Ebony Network, both of which are committed to supporting underserved communities with access to vital resources.
“We know that many families are overwhelmed or facing financial stress during tax season,” said Council Member Blegay. “This clinic is about ensuring that no one is left behind and that every resident has access to reliable, professional help at no cost.”
Residents are encouraged to bring all necessary tax documents, a valid photo ID, and any supporting financial information. Trained tax preparers will be on-site to provide assistance and answer questions.
This initiative reflects Council Member Blegay’s ongoing commitment to equity, accessibility, and community empowerment.
Members of the media working on tax preparation stories are welcome to attend.
