Announcement and Press Conference Scheduled for Veterans Day

This Veterans Day, Prince George’s County Council Chair Edward Burroughs III will launch a new partnership with Vet for Vet and Victory Church International to assist District 8 veterans with applying for and receiving Veterans Affairs benefits.

“Too many veterans are missing out on the benefits they have earned simply because they struggle to navigate the system. My goal with this program is to ease that burden and make sure our veterans are getting everything they’re entitled to,” said Chair Burroughs. “Prince George’s County has the largest number of veterans in the state of Maryland, and I often hear from my constituents that the VA system can be an overwhelming and complex bureaucratic maze.”

Chair Burroughs will officially announce the partnership at a press conference on Tuesday, November 11 at 10:00 AM at the American Legion Post 248, 5600 Janice Lane, Temple Hills, MD 20748. He will be joined by Deborah Nelson from Vet for Vet, veterans who will benefit from the partnership, and representatives from Victory Church International.

The goal of this new partnership is to make the confusing and stressful process of securing VA benefits much easier for veterans who live in District 8 through FREE VA claim-filing consultations with Vet for Vet to maximize their VA benefits including compensation and pension increases, character of discharge upgrades, aid and attendance benefits, caregiver program enrollment, HISA/adaptable housing grants, VA healthcare enrollment, and Chapter 35 benefits for college age dependents. This organization of veterans helping veterans brings a proven track record of success in providing assistance to our heroes with the dignity and respect they’ve earned.
