In 2023, Prince George’s County Council Member Wanika Fisher (District 2) launched the annual Senior Bling Appreciation Reception series for District 2 senior residents. The annual luncheon is a testament to Council Member Fisher’s commitment to honoring the invaluable contributions of District 2’s senior community. From “Diamonds & Bling” to “Gatsby Glamour”, the afternoon event brings out the best in style and is filled with joy, laughter, great food, music, shine, and sparkle. Past hosts and distinguished guests include Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman, news anchors Shomari Stone and Marissa Mitchell from FOX 5 DC, along with special event greetings from Maryland Governor Wes Moore. It is vital that we continue to give back to those who paved the way for many Prince George’s County residents and acknowledge their continued hard work.
