Council Member Harrison recognizes that local nonprofits are a critical component within Prince George’s County.  Our District 9 neighbors rely on nonprofits to help address a  number of human, social, education and recreation services central to further building and maintaining a strong and united community.

Each year the Prince George’s County Council appropriates funds to support nonprofit organization throughout the County. A formal application process has been established for nonprofits to apply for grants in the following areas:

Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible Veterans, active duty service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military. Individual, group, marriage and family counseling is offered in addition to referral and connection to other VA or community benefits and services.

Veteran Tickets Foundation  
Veteran Tickets Foundation teams up with major sports teams, leagues, promoters, organizations, venues and ticket holders to provide free and discounted tickets to the more than 21 million military and veterans. Currently serving military, honorably discharged veterans from all branches of service, and family of those Killed In Action are eligible. VetTixer's accounts are active once we verify service status.
