[ARCHIVED] COUNCIL WELCOMES MDOT OFFICIALS FOR ANNUAL STATEWIDE TOUR TO DISCUSS TRANSPORTATION PRIORITIES

COUNTY COUNCIL WELCOMES MDOT OFFICIALS FOR ANNUAL STATEWIDE TOUR TO DISCUSS TRANSPORTATION PRIORITIES

Virtual Meeting Reviews State Transportation Investments in Prince George’s County

The Prince George’s County Council will welcome Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) representatives for the annual statewide Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP) Tour, to be held virtually on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting is part of MDOT’s annual tour of 23 Maryland counties and Baltimore City to update local officials and the public on the Draft FY 2023-2028 Consolidated Transportation Program (CTP), which details MDOT’s record $19.9 billion six-year capital budget investment in the state’s transportation network. MDOT Secretary James F. Ports, Jr., and other MDOT officials will outline state transportation investments and also discuss Prince George's County's transportation priorities, provide key project updates, and answer questions.

Council Member Calvin S. Hawkins, II, encourages Prince Georgians to participate in Thursday’s virtual public meeting for updates on transportation and transit issues impacting the County.

"The Consolidated Transportation Program Tour provides an important opportunity for public engagement and dialogue. Residents and stakeholders will hear directly from state officials concerning highway and transportation projects impacting Prince George’s County residents and discuss how these projects are prioritized by the state. If surrounding maintenance of our state roads, the Purple Line project, or Managed Lanes concern you, please mark your calendars and sign up to participate.”

The meeting link will be sent to those who have signed up in advance of the meeting.

Following completion of the statewide tour, MDOT officials will prepare a final transportation budget to present to the Maryland General Assembly in January. To view the Draft CTP, visit: www.ctp.maryland.gov
