Prince George’s County Council Member Wala Blegay, Esq. will host a District 6 Traffic Town Hall on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro.
According to state data, Prince George’s County had 120 fatal crashes in 2023, the highest of any jurisdiction in Maryland. Council members are committed to improving safety on the roads and collaborating with the community to find new strategies and solutions.
During the town hall, Council Member Blegay will provide the results of the District 6 Road Infrastructure Survey, and share how this information will inform efforts to address traffic, speeding, and road infrastructure. Attendees will also have an opportunity to express their traffic-related concerns.
Council Member Blegay says the town hall is an opportunity for the ongoing dialogue that is critical to making roads safer for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
“Ensuring safer streets in District 6 is one of my top priorities,” said Council Member Blegay. “Traffic and pedestrian safety are serious community concerns that require ongoing attention and community engagement. I believe our town hall events will play a significant role in developing solutions to our traffic challenges by ensuring community input as we move toward improvement. Residents are encouraged to join us and be a part of the solution.”
Residents interested in attending the town hall can register here or contact The Office of Council Member Blegay at (301) 952-3426 or CouncilDistrict6@co.pg.md.us.
