Semi-Annual Event Provides Opportunity to Connect and Share Resources
Prince George’s County Council Chair Dannielle Glaros, (D) - District 3, hosted the Semi-Annual District 3 Nonprofit Breakfast on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Center for Educational Partnership in Riverdale, Maryland.
Council Chair Glaros says the opportunity for nonprofits and businesses to connect and share resources is a win-win.
“We want more nonprofits serving in our community to have the ability to access funds available to community groups. A nonprofit is in fact a small business. Their success is a win for business, the nonprofit, and especially County residents.”
More than 50 community nonprofit organizations serving District 3 communities were represented at the event. The breakfast meeting featured special guests Hillary Lindeman, Director, Nonprofit Prince George’s County; David Harrington, President, Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce; and Gretchen Greiner-Lott, Vice-President, Washington Association of Grantmakers. Topics of discussion included standards of excellence; the value of business and nonprofit partnerships; and the Nonprofit Summer Learning Series.
The Prince George’s County Council has made strategic funding investments to continue programs for strengthening the capacity of nonprofits in the County and create important partnerships to more effectively serve the County’s youth and seniors, and target issues such as Domestic Violence.
