$500,000 Grant Program Seeks Community Solutions for Ending Domestic Violence
The Prince George’s County Council is now accepting online applications for the FY 2022 Prince George’s County Council Domestic Violence Grant Program, which provides funding support to programs serving the housing, workforce development, mental health counseling and/or legal advocacy needs of domestic violence survivors in the County.
For the sixth consecutive year, the Council has appropriated $500,000 in the County Budget to support programs that fight domestic violence in Prince George’s County. Since its inception, the Council’s Domestic Violence Grant Program has awarded over $2.5 million to local nonprofits in support of domestic violence programs and survivors. Program funds are available to nonprofit organizations through a review and evaluation process for all applicants.
Prince George’s County Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, encourages local nonprofits to apply for funding.
“The County Council is committed to eradicating domestic violence in our communities, but success in this effort demands collaboration with our local nonprofits. This continued funding upholds our commitment to effectively address domestic violence in our communities, and we look forward to working together with our local nonprofits to address this pervasive issue.”
