RE-ENTRY ADVISORY BOARD SEEKS COMMUNITY INPUT ON RE-ENTRY PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR COUNTY’S RETURNING CITIZENS
Board’s Preliminary Recommendations Topic of Discussion for October 14th Virtual Public Hearing
The Prince George’s County Re-Entry Advisory Board, established by Council Resolution 49-2019, will conduct a Virtual Public Hearing on the Re-Entry in Prince George’s County Preliminary Report, Thursday, October 14, 2021, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The Re-Entry Advisory Board has been working to evaluate and assess resources, services, and institutional partnerships currently available in the County and identify ways to effectively implement a comprehensive re-entry program and services addressing additional employment, housing, mental health, and faith-based supports for returning citizens. The Preliminary Report, outlining draft recommendations, was released on June 17, 2021.
Prince George’s County Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, encourages residents to participate and share their thoughts during the public hearing.
“The cooperation and acceptance of the community and access to coordinated community resources plays an important role in the successful reentry of our returning citizens, who rely on their community for support in many ways. We look forward to the insights of our residents during the virtual public hearing, as the Advisory Board continues its work to establish a comprehensive re-entry program in our County, and reduce recidivism.”
