COUNTY COUNCIL TO RECEIVE NEW ZONING ORDINANCE AND NACo BRIEFINGS DURING VIRTUAL SESSION FEBRUARY 8TH 

The Council’s Committee of the Whole (COW), the Prince George’s County Council, and the District Council will convene virtually on Tuesday, February 8th

The COW is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. with 2022 Maryland General Assembly status updates, including statewide and local bills, and a Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) update. 

Council session will convene at 11:30 a.m., beginning with the review of Proposed Correspondence to Prince George’s County Senate Delegation Chair Joanne C. Benson, and Prince George’s County House Delegation Chair Nick Charles, transmitting the position of the Prince George's County Council on proposed State legislation.  The Council will also address CR-009-2022, legislation concerning National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, and CR-010-2022, legislation recognizing National Mentoring Month, both of which are eligible for adoption.  Prior to adjournment, the Council will receive a National Association of Counties (NACo) briefing from CEO and Executive Director Matthew Chase, and President Larry Johnson, followed by a briefing on the New Prince George’s County Zoning Ordinance.  

At 1:00 p.m., the County Council, sitting as the District Council on land use matters, will convene to review Items Referred for Document.
