Edward Burroughs, III, to Fill Vacant District 8 Council Seat
The Prince George’s County Council will hold a swearing-in ceremony for Council Member-Elect Edward Burroughs, III, on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Council Member-Elect Burroughs won the Special Election held on February 1, 2022, to fill the District 8 Council seat vacated in November 2021. Council session will convene at 11:30 a.m. beginning with the Introduction of CB-005-2022, legislation establishing a Property Tax Credit for elderly individuals, followed by a briefing from the Climate Action Commission. The Council will also address Proposed Correspondence to Prince George’s County Senate Delegation Chair Joanne C. Benson, and Prince George’s County House Delegation Chair Nick Charles; WMATA Chair Paul Smedberg; and Council Administrator Robert J. Williams, Jr.
The COW is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. with legislative updates for the Maryland General Assembly, including statewide and local bills, and the Maryland Association of Counties (MACo).
