COUNTY COUNCIL TO CONDUCT PUBLIC HEARINGS FOR EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS; CONVENES AS BOARD OF HEALTH DURING VIRTUAL SESSIONS ON MARCH 8TH
The Council’s Committee of the Whole (COW), the County Council and the Council sitting as the Board of Health will convene virtually on Tuesday, March 8th.
The COW is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. with 2022 Maryland General Assembly status updates, including statewide and local bills impacting Prince George’s County. The COW will also receive a Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) legislative update. Council Members will review CR-014-2022, legislation concerning Prince George’s County’s 17th Continued Declaration of Emergency, and CR-018-2022, legislation concerning the Bowie-Mitchellville and Vicinity Master Plan.
Council session will convene at 11:30 a.m., beginning with the presentation and introduction of measures, followed by the review of Proposed Correspondence to Prince George’s County Senate Delegation Chair Joanne C. Benson, and Prince George’s County House Delegation Chair Nick Charles, transmitting the position of the County Council on proposed State legislation. The Council will also conduct public hearings for Executive Appointments to the Nuisance Abatement Board, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, Agriculture Resources Advisory Committee, Advisory Committee on Aging, Board of Social Services and Commission for Women. Prior to adjournment, the Council will review legislation eligible for adoption.
At 2:00 p.m., the County Council sitting as the Board of Health, will convene for several scheduled briefings, including Health Officer updates from Health Officer Dr. Ernest Carter, and Deputy Health Officer/COO Ololade Olakanmi, followed by Health Assures, Maternal Morbidity, and Luminis Health Doctors Community Medical Center briefings.
