MAY 31ST COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE TO ADDRESS POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY MEASURES; COUNCIL SESSION TO REVIEW EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT AND LEGISLATION
Residents Encouraged to Provide Comment on Police Accountability Measures
The Prince George’s County Council and the Committee of the Whole (COW) will convene hybrid sessions – both virtual and in person - on Tuesday, May 31st.
Council session, scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., will include the Presentation and Introduction of measures. Public hearings will be held for the Executive Appointment of Darlene Bennett to the Taxicab Board for Prince George’s County; and measures related to the FY 2022 Annual Action Plan for Housing and Community Development, and Compensation and Benefits. Measures eligible for a final Council vote will also be addressed.
The COW will convene at 11:00 a.m., for the third and final review of proposed legislation addressing Police Accountability. The reform measures below were proposed and submitted by the County Executive to the County Council as required by state laws passed in 2021 and must be implemented by July 1, 2022.
