Subcommittee to Build Consensus around Housing Policies; Charged with Developing a Comprehensive Housing Strategy for Prince George’s County

The Prince George’s County Council Comprehensive Housing Strategy Ad Hoc Subcommittee will convene on Tuesday, July 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon, Council Committee Hearing Room 2027, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

The Comprehensive Housing Strategy Ad Hoc Subcommittee, established by Council Resolution 13-2016, will assess current and future housing needs; consider barriers to home ownership and affordability; examine regional realities, existing strategies and unique local housing and fiscal challenges in the County. The subcommittee will build consensus around housing policies considering the County, State and regional economies; the County’s transportation network; and where Prince George’s County fits in the future of the Greater Washington-Baltimore region.

July 26th agenda items include the following presentations:

Presentation/Discussion on Models of Comprehensive Housing Strategies and Frameworks for Consultant Assistance Scopes of Work
• Melissa Bondi, Enterprise Community Partners
• Hilary Chapman, Metro Washington Council of Governments

The workgroup will present a preliminary report to the Council on or before December 1, 2016, and a final report on or before July 1, 2017.
