COUNCIL CHAIR CALVIN S. HAWKINS, II, TO JOIN AMERICAN RED CROSS AND FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF HIGHLAND PARK FOR COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE

Event Highlights the Importance of Blood Donation

Prince George’s County Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, will participate in a blood drive hosted by the American Red Cross and the First Baptist Church of Highland Park on Friday, June 10, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  The blood drive will be held at the First Baptist Church of Highland Park, 6801 Sheriff Road, Banquet Hall A, in Landover.

Council Chair Hawkins encourages other elected officials and residents who are able, to join him and consider making a life-changing blood donation to the Red Cross.

“The Red Cross is currently experiencing a decline in blood donations, and donors are needed now more than ever. Supporting those in need with a blood donation is a small gesture with widespread impact and I want to thank the American Red Cross and First Baptist Church of Highland Park for providing residents with an opportunity to serve in this way.”

The First Baptist Church of Highland Park will provide participating blood donors with a $5 e-gift thank you card to a merchant of their choice. To participate, contact, Blood Program Leader, Andrea Tibbs.
