[ARCHIVED] COUNTY COUNCIL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GRANT PROGRAM BEGINS APPLICATION PROCESS

Applications Accepted Through September 9th - Prince George’s County Nonprofits Encouraged to Apply - $500,000 Grant Program Seeks Community Solutions for Ending Domestic Violence

The Prince George’s County Council is now accepting online applications for the FY 2023 Prince George’s County Council Domestic Violence Grant Program, which supports domestic violence survivors in the County by providing funding support to programs serving their housing, workforce development, mental health counseling and/or legal advocacy needs.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Council has appropriated $500,000 in the County Budget to support programs that fight domestic violence in Prince George’s County. Since its inception, the Council’s Domestic Violence Grant Program has awarded over $3 million to local nonprofits in support of domestic violence programs and survivors. Program funds are available to nonprofit organizations through a review and evaluation process for all applicants.

Prince George’s County Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, urges local nonprofits to apply for funding.

“The County Council remains committed to ending domestic violence in our communities, and our continued collaboration with local nonprofits moves us towards that goal. By working together, through a coordinated and collaborative community response, we can improve the lives of those impacted by domestic violence. We look forward to working together with our local nonprofits to effectively address this pervasive issue.”

Prince George’s County Council staff will host a virtual Pre-Proposal Conference for the Prince George’s County Council Grant Program on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Interested nonprofit organizations may attend the conference to receive additional information about the Council’s Domestic Violence Grant Program and how to apply.

To register for the pre-proposal conference, e-mail PGCCOUNCILGRANTS@co.pg.md.us with the organization’s name and representative(s) attending, including job title, contact number and e-mail address. Potential applicants are strongly encouraged to participate in the pre-proposal conference.
