Prince George’s County Council Member Wanika Fisher (District 2), will host a Latino Town Hall and Resource Fair on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Langley Park Community Center, 1500 Merrimac Drive, in Hyattsville.
Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks, and Maryland State Delegate Joseline A. Pena-Melnyk (District 21) who also serves as Chair of the Health and Government Operations Committee, will participate in the day’s events as featured special guests.
Council Member Fisher says the Latino Town Hall Meeting brings important one-stop resources and information to the community.
“Many times, it can be difficult for residents to access government resources and information during the work week, so we are bringing the County to the community on a Saturday for this special town hall event. Latinos are such an integral part of District 2 and we want to make sure they have the tools necessary to be informed, engaged and empowered members of the community. I am excited that County Executive Alsobrooks and Delegate Pena-Melnyk will join us to speak with residents, and representatives from several County agencies will also be on hand. This promises to be an informative day and I encourage District 2 residents, especially members of our Latino community, to join us.”
Representatives from the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS), Comptroller of Maryland, Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC), Housing Initiatives Partnership, Community Legal Services, Prince George’s County Office of Latino Affairs, Department of Environment (DOE), Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T), Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE),Office of Community Development and the Latino Economic Development Center will also be available to provide information and additional resources for attendees.
