The Prince George’s County Council will convene on Tuesday, April 4th at 10:00 a.m. 


Among legislative measures scheduled for public hearings on Tuesday and/or eligible for final vote: 


CR-018-2023 proposed legislation creating a Guaranteed Basic Income Pilot Program, to be modeled after the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration (SEED) program in Stockton, California, tailored to the needs and resources in the County in conjunction with aid from The Greater Washington Community Foundation


CB-021-2023 proposed legislation amending the Zoning Ordinance to provide a transitional period for development pursuant to authority in the prior Ordinance Use Tables, and providing a limited alternative development standard for property in the IE Zone


CR-009-2021 proposed legislation approving the Watershed Protection and Restoration Financial Assurance Plan (FAP) as required by State law.

10:00 a.m. Planning, Housing, and Economic Development Committee (PHED)

Budget Worksessions - People’s Zoning Counsel, M-NCPPC FY 2024 budgets – Commissioner’s Office, Central Administrative Services (CAS), Planning Department

CB-031-2023, proposed legislation modifying the definitions of Convenience Store, Gas Station, and Tobacco Shop uses in the Zoning Ordinance to clarify the percentage of certain uses that may be dedicated to the display and sales of tobacco products; and providing for a transition period to ensure compliance

CB-039-2023, for the purpose of providing building height standards for development of property within the Central Avenue Corridor in proximity to single-family zones

CB-040-2023, proposed legislation amending the lot coverage and green space requirements for development of property in the Industrial, Employment (IE) Zone of Prince George’s County.


1:30 p.m. Health, Human Services and Public Safety Committee (HHSPS)

Budget Worksessions: Circuit Court, Orphans' Court, Administrative Charging Committee, Arts and Humanities Council

CR-013-2023, proposed legislation encouraging the State of Maryland to take action to create a standard for Nurse-Patient Ratios to ensure the optimum level of care for patients in hospitals
