BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING MONDAY, APRIL 24TH AT 6:00 P.M. – COUNTY BUDGET, CIP AND BOARD OF EDUCATION BUDGET
COUNCIL TO CONVENE TUESDAY, APRIL 25TH – LEGISLATION ADDRESSING RETALIATION FOR RENT STABILIZATION SCHEDULED FOR PUBLIC HEARING AND FINAL COUNCIL VOTE
The County Council will conduct a Budget Public Hearing for the Proposed FY 2024 Operating Budget, Six Year Capital Program (including the Capital Improvement budget), the Board of Education portion of the FY 2024 Operation Budget, proposed budget of the Redevelopment Authority and Revenue Authority, and the Constant Yield Tax Rate Monday, April 24, 2023, 6:00 p.m. at the Wayne K. Curry County Administration Building, Council Hearing Room, First Floor, 1301 McCormick Drive in Largo.
Residents may register to speak during the public hearing by accessing the Council’s eComment portal https://pgccouncil.us/Speak. For those unable to use the portal, comments/written correspondence may be emailed to: clerkofthecouncil@co.pg.md.us. Additionally, on-site registration for live testimony is now available; however, advance registration to testify is strongly encouraged.
The Council will convene for its regularly scheduled session on Tuesday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. Among legislative measures scheduled for public hearings on Tuesday and/or eligible for final vote:
CB-051-2023, an Emergency Act concerning Landlord Retaliation for Rent Stabilization declaring certain actions by Landlords as retaliation, to include the termination of a lease to force a pre-existing tenant into a new lease for the purpose of avoiding the rent increase limitation established by the Rent Stabilization Act.
CR-026-2023, proposed legislation initiating a Minor Amendment to the 2014 Southern Green Line Station Area Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment - in particular, to include recommendations from the 2013 Central Branch Avenue Corridor Revitalization Plan that are specific to the length of Suitland Road, which serves as a shared boundary between both plan areas.
The County Council, sitting as the District Council on land use matters, will convene on Tuesday, April 25th at 11:30 a.m.
