[ARCHIVED] COUNTY COUNCIL, SITTING AS THE BOARD OF HEALTH, TO ANNOUNCE RESULTS OF "THE BIGGEST WINNER"


The Prince George’s County Council, sitting as the County’s Board of Health, will announce phase three results of “The Biggest Winner” Program on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11:30 a.m., in the Council Hearing Room, County Administration Building, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

The stimulus for “The Biggest Winner” Weight Loss Competition Program is a study linking regular churchgoers and obesity. In this third phase of “The Biggest Winner” pilot program, participating congregants from competing faith communities include members of Beltsville Seventh Day Adventist Church in Beltsville and Sharon Bible Fellowship Church in Lanham. The goal of the program is to improve the health and well-being of faith-based community members in Prince George’s County.

Joining the Council Board of Health to announce the results and crown a winner will be Board of Health consultant, Joseph L. Wright, MD, MPH and representatives from The Biggest Winner’s participating churches.
