Free, Interactive, Educational Workshop Introduces Residents to the Basics of Composting
Prince George’s County Council Member Ingrid Watson (District 4), to introduce residents to the basics of composting and highlight its benefits, will present the Green Hat Summit Workshop Series – Composting 101 on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Glenn Dale Fire Station Hall, 11900 Glenn Dale Blvd.
The Composting 101 hands-on workshop is free and welcomes residents of all ages. Attendees will learn about the importance of composting, different composting techniques, ways to kick-start a composting journey, and the use of BPI Certified bags. The workshop will also cover the basics of using the Prince George’s County “Green Bin.”
Council Member Watson emphasizes the environmental and community benefits of composting.
“Composting provides a wide range of environmental advantages and directly benefits County residents,” said Council Member Watson. “This workshop is designed to teach residents the basics of composting and also presents an exciting hands-on learning opportunity for school-aged children. It promises to be an informative evening and I encourage residents of all ages to join the fun.”
