National Foundation for Women Legislators Presents Awards November 16 in Orlando, Florida

Prince George’s County Council Member Karen R. Toles (D) – District 7 will be presented with a 2016 “Women of Excellence” award on Wednesday, November 16, during the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL) Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida.

The Women of Excellence Award was established as part of the NFWL’s 75th Anniversary Celebration and honors the hard work and dedication of women leaders from across the country. Council Member Toles says she is privileged to accept the award.

“I am truly humbled to be among the 2016 Women of Excellence Award honorees, and I want to thank the National Foundation for Women Legislators for recognizing the legislative accomplishments I have achieved on behalf of my constituents in Prince George’s County, Maryland.”

As an honoree, Council Member Toles is identified among distinguished women in public service nationwide who are strong advocates and powerful voices for their communities. Winners were nominated by their colleagues and constituents and chosen by a panel of NFWL members.

“We are thrilled to acknowledge these women,” remarks NFWL Chair and Delaware Representative, Helene Keeley. “They showcase the strong leadership qualities, focused work ethic, and determination that we try to instill in young women across the nation, and deserve to be recognized for their tremendous efforts.”
