COUNCIL VICE CHAIR DANNIELLE GLAROS TO HOST COMMUNITY MEETING FOCUSING ON IMMIGRANT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES 

Prince George’s County Council Vice Chair Dannielle Glaros (D) – District 3, will host a community discussion focusing on refugee and immigrant programs and services in District 3 and Prince George’s County on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Center for Educational Partnership, 6200 Sheridan Street in Riverdale, Maryland.

The evening’s event will feature a comprehensive community discussion on refugee and immigration programs and services currently available to Prince George’s County residents. Representatives from CASA de Maryland, Liberty’s Promise, Prince George’s County Public Schools, International Rescue Committee (IRC), Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area, and the Ethiopian Community Development Council will provide an overview of services provided and share how residents may engage in supporting this work. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions, express viewpoints and share their concerns.

“Several District 3 residents have contacted our office with questions concerning immigrant programs and services,” said Vice Chair Glaros. “Many are looking for information and resources, and others are looking for ways they might help the County’s more vulnerable populations. During this event we will share what is happening locally and how residents can heighten their level of engagement surrounding these issues.”

The District 3 constituent area includes Beacon Heights, Berwyn Heights, College Park, East Pines, Glenn Dale, Glenridge, Landover Hills, Lanham, New Carrollton, Riverdale Heights and Hills, Riverdale Park, Seabrook, Templeton Knolls, University Park, West Lanham Hills, and Woodlawn.
