The Prince George’s County Council has received the Fiscal Year 2018 Operating and Capital Budget proposals from County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, and we commend the diligence of the County Executive and his team in the assembly of the proposed spending plan.
This Council looks forward to working collaboratively with the Executive Branch, residents and all stakeholders to achieve an adopted FY 18 County Budget that further strengthens our communities and improves our quality of life.
We share in the celebration of fiscal and economic development accomplishments reflected in the County Executive’s budget proposal. We have worked hard together. Focusing on ensuring the future success of Prince George’s County, the Council’s budget process will continue to examine the County’s Structural Deficit challenges which were recently considered by the Blue Ribbon Commission on Addressing Prince George’s County’s Structural Deficit.
Pursuant to the County Charter, the County Council must adopt a new and balanced spending plan for the County on or before June 1. Community engagement is critically important, especially to the Council’s budget review and adoption process. Residents are encouraged to participate.
Meeting schedules are subject to change. All Council meetings, including budget sessions, are live-streamed and available via the Council’s website for on-demand viewing.
