[ARCHIVED] PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY COUNCIL TO HOLD FIVE PUBLIC HEARINGS ON FY2018 PROPOSED COUNTY BUDGET

Residents Urged to Voice Budget Priorities as Council Considers FY18 Proposed Spending Plan; Residents Can Sign up to Speak at Public Hearings on April 18, 24, May 2 and 8

The Prince George’s County Council will hold five public hearings during the months of April and May, on the County’s Proposed Spending Plan for Fiscal Year 2018.  All public hearings will be held in the first-floor Council Hearing Room, County Administration Building, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive in Upper Marlboro.  

The Council will hold its first budget public hearing on Tuesday, April 18 at 2:00 p.m. for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission spending plan.  A second budget public hearing is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18 for the Annual Action Plan/Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
 

A public hearing will be held on Monday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m., for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) budget.  

On May 2 and 8 at 7:00 p.m., public hearings will be held for the proposed FY 2018 County Operating, Capital Improvement Plan and Board of Education budgets.  

The Council received the County’s proposed FY 2018 spending plan from County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III on March 15.  During April and May, Council committees are conducting budget review meetings with agency and department representatives.  In accordance with the County Charter, the Council will enact a balanced budget by June 1.
