Long-Awaited Project Projected to Spur Economic Development in District 7 and Revitalize Suitland Communities

Prince George’s County Council Member Karen R. Toles (D) – District 7, joined County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III, the Redevelopment Authority of Prince George’s County, community leaders and District 7 residents for the official groundbreaking for the Towne Square at Suitland Federal Center on Thursday, November 16, 2017.

The Towne Square at Suitland Federal Center will feature over a million square feet of mixed-use development, including residential apartment housing units, single-family attachment homes, retail space and a Performing Arts Center.

Phase one will begin immediately following the groundbreaking and include grading and infrastructure construction followed by the construction of townhomes and a senior apartment building in the spring of 2018. The second phase will begin in 2020 with the construction of 538 apartments and 2 Net Zero Energy homes. Phase three will include retail space and a Performing Arts Center.
