[ARCHIVED] COUNCIL MEMBER DERRICK L. DAVIS WELCOMES OLIVE GARDEN ITALIAN KITCHEN TO RITCHIE STATION MARKETPLACE

Restaurant is Newest Eatery in Shopping Center Expansion

Prince George’s County Council Member Derrick L. Davis (D) - District 6, is pleased to join community partners in welcoming Prince George’s County’s newest Olive Garden location to Ritchie Station Marketplace in Capitol Heights. The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

Council Member Davis says Prince George’s County is the premiere place to do business and Ritchie Station Market Place is thriving.

“The opening of this new restaurant in District 6 culminates the ongoing, collaborative efforts of the community, private developers and government to bring fresh dining options to Ritchie Station Marketplace along with creating crucial job and economic development opportunities.”

The Ritchie Station Marketplace Olive Garden is the county’s fourth location, joining Bowie Town Center, The Mall at Prince George’s in Hyattsville, and Towne Center Laurel.

Olive Garden Manager, Teddi Cooke, says Capitol Heights has been identified as a great location with long-term growth and potential.

“We’ve received outstanding support from the community and hope to strengthen community ties.  This new location will create approximately 150 new jobs for the surrounding community and will participate in the Olive Garden Harvest program to feed the hungry.”

The new Olive Garden at 1681 Ritchie Station Court joins Dave & Buster’s, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ashley and Regency Furniture showrooms, DSW and Pohanka’s Hyundai and Volkswagen, as part of a growing retail, restaurant, and commercial hub of activity located along I-95 South.
