The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. stood as a selfless champion for advancing equality, social justice, and economic opportunity for all. The Prince George’s County Council commemorates the extraordinary life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and we pay tribute to the lasting impact of his meritorious contributions to the Civil Rights Movement and our nation. Dr. King once said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' “ In recognition of Dr. King’s incredible legacy of service, we encourage every Prince Georgian to make Monday, January 15th, a “day on, not a day off,” by recommitting to care for our vulnerable; support our families; maintain our neighborhoods; create economic opportunity and serve the needs of others for the common good of our communities throughout Prince George’s County.
