CHAIR GLAROS JOINS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY AND KAISER PERMANENTE FOR MARTIN
LUTHER KING DAY SERVICE PROJECT
Prince George’s County Council Chair Dannielle Glaros (D) – District 3, will join Habitat for Humanity, and Kaiser Permanente, the Maryland Multi-Cultural Youth Center, and Riverdale Heights, Riverdale Hills and Crestwood residents to commemorate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King with “A Day On; Not a Day Off” service project on Monday, January 15, 2018. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and activities begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Center of Educational Partnership, 6200 Sheridan Street, in Riverdale Hills, Maryland.
Chair Glaros welcomes the opportunity to join
Habitat for Humanity, Kaiser Permanente and District 3 residents to commemorate
the life and legacy of Dr. King with “A day on, not a day off.”
“We appreciate and celebrate this important partnership in Prince George’s County that embraces the servant leadership of Dr. King. This 2018 ‘Day of Service’ event is one of the many service projects led by Habitat for Humanity and contributing greatly to the surrounding community over recent years. We are also pleased to have the community partnership of Kaiser Permanente and our residents.”
During the day’s events, volunteers will paint
the Riverdale Heights Volunteer Fire Department and various rooms at the Center
for Education Partnership; deliver informational packets and resources to
residents; and build structures for use on upcoming Habitat for Humanity
projects.
