County Budget Director and Council Auditor to Review Process for Developing Annual Budget

The Prince George’s County Council will hold a Town Hall Meeting on the County Budget Process from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in the County Administration Building, Council Hearing Room, First Floor, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

The County Council Town Hall Meeting on the Fiscal Year 2019 County Budget Process will feature presentations on the budget outlook for FY19 and the Council’s budget review process by County Auditor David Van Dyke; Deputy County Auditor Turkessa Green; Office of Management and Budget Director Stanley Earley and Deputy Director Amber Hendricks. Important calendar dates for meetings and public hearings will be provided and participants will have an opportunity to address the Council.

The County budget process is currently underway and in accordance with County Charter, the County Executive will submit his proposed FY 2019 spending plan to the Council by March 15. The Council will then begin its review process in a series of committee work sessions and public hearings. The Council must adopt a new and balanced spending plan on or before June 1.

Council Chair Dannielle Glaros (D) – District 3, encourages County residents to participate in the Town Hall Meeting.
